50 Grey Street, Australian mansions, luxury property, luxury real estate, Prue Miller, St Kilda mansions

Okay, so we know Melbourne has got fabulous taste – despite an alarming amount of black clothing. And every now and then, a slice of real estate pie comes onto the shelf that is so fabulous, you can almost forget about the money. Almost.

Eildon Mansion is one of those. It comes with lots of impressive names (well, this is Melbourne after all), and despite needing a ton of work, is a sight to see.
Kay & Burton have the 2000 square metre block listing at 50 Grey Street, St Kilda, and they note some impressive detail such as a heritage that dates back to 1850.
There are 19 rooms, and space for a tremendous garden. Without apology I admit to being a afan aof architectural symmetry and this property has such a strong order, all the way through the property, that my hardened heart skips a wee beat.

Needless to say (but I will anyway) the original stables have been converted to living space.
Just love the romance of this one – it inspires me to go back to season one of Bridgerton.

With 19 rooms in the mansion, a stunning loggia opening to the garden and an impressive first floor balcony, the original architectural design of the home combines elegant symmetry and grand proportions that are still relevant today.
